Dark circle treatment for under eyes
Prevention is always better than cure, that’s why we have first aid to lessen the pain that we (unfortunately) have
Also, we have home made remedies for dilemma's that are quite disturbing and not to mention pesky.
But if all else fails, we tend to dive to our last result. Bring in the big guns, if you may. So, what are the different forms of dark eye circle treatment?
There are many – surprisingly – ways to get rid of dark circles under eyes. From surgery, cosmetics and dark circles home remedies.
Let’s zoom in on the dark circle treatment using surgery and cosmetics.
First on the list, we have. Laser Treatment.
For sure, like everyone, you’ve seen movies that have futuristic theme or background, movies like Star Wars or Star Trek. In these movies they have laser guns which emit beams of light rather than bullets.
Laser Treatment or Light-Based Therapies for dark under-eye circles uses beams of light to smooth the layers of our skin. Now, these beams of light (from the laser) creates wavelength that move over skin. The energy released from the light goes through layers of skin and will eventually correct the irregularities of skin pigmentation which will remove dark circles on our under eyes.
Second we have Fat Grafting. Fat. It may sound weird or gross. And you might think it’s oil or cholesterol or whatever that would make our bodies unhealthy, but Fat Grafting is one treatment that doctors used to eliminate dark circles under the eyes.
How it works? Pieces of fat are place into an area under direct vision through a small cut or incision.
Though this method has been used by a lot of doctors, the bad thing about it is that this is a blind procedure. Since when the fat is injected into the eye are the doctor cannot exactly see where the instrument (like a needle or a small tube) is going and what eye structures are near. So, there is a risk, although not so huge, of injuring blood vessels and muscles when doing this procedure.
And then we have the BOTOX.
Botulinum Toxin is a protein and is highly known to be neurotoxic. This is popularly known as BOTOX and is now widely used for various cosmetic and medical procedures.
Though this procedure is commonly used for reduction of wrinkles, it can also be used for dark circle treatment on our under eyes. But the cost varies – consultation alone would cost $100 to $250.
These dark circle treatments, however, are, a last resort (and should be) because a lot of things should be considered before diving into things like these treatments.
The cost or even the medical insurance coverage – will my insurance cover these dark circle treatments?
The recovery – what to do after the treatment? The vitamins or medicine to take in order to maintain the disappearance of those dark under eye circles.
There is another way to remove dark spots under our eyes, and that’s by using the best eye cream for dark circles. It’s almost as effective but its much cheaper compared to laser and surgery treatments.
